Operating in Vietnam at least for 3 years. Complying with tax and insurance obligations.

Eligible enterprises shall meet both of these criteria:

1. Number of employees of at least 100 (by February 2016)

2. Financial conditions (latest year) :

- Financial institution: annual total assets of at least VND 11,000 billion
- Other enterprises must have gross annual sales or turnover of at least VND 400 billion

2. Other entreprises who are not eligible for “Leading HR Practices”

  1. Manpower Planning & Resourcing: Recognising staffing, HR planning, deployment, recruitment and selection strategies and programs that seek to achieve the effective utilisation and acquisition of resources to meet business needs.
    (Enterprises applying for this category are encouraged to provide evidence such as HR plans for 1-3 year(s), including specific requirements and necessary skills for potential staff, recruitment numbers, candidate pools, talent attraction programmes, recruitment processes, and new employee orientation programmes…)
  2. Performance Management: Recognising the measurements and management of employee and business performance and how these measurements have been developed and used to improve and reward performance.
    (Enterprises applying for this category are encouraged to provide working principles, management methods, samples and other evidence showing that HR management plays a key role in the performance of the enterprise…)
  3. Compensation & Rewards Management: Recognising compensation, salary, benefits and rewards management programmes and systems that meet business needs, such as cost effectiveness, business growth, retention, performance, and others.
    (Enterprises applying for this category are encouraged to provide salary policies such as remuneration policies, bonus policies, and other polices aimed at retaining talent…)
  4. Training & Human Capital Development: Recognising training and development programmes that allow employees to acquire and share knowledge that enables them to perform and contribute more effectively to the enterprise and increases their employability.
    (Enterprises applying for this category are encouraged to provide evidence such as analyses of training needs, the general training schedule for the entire year, human resources development plans, and other in-depth analyses, if any…)
  5. Best working environment: Emphasising a workplace culture and environment that encourages employees to work more efficiently, as well as policies and programmes that build trust, understanding and collaboration between employees.
    (Enterprises applying for this category are encouraged to provide descriptions of the existing workplace environment, including facilities, company culture and policies, that ensures fair treatment and a friendly working environment for employees…)

SCORING CRITERIA

Judging in each category is based on the following criteria. Total scores are out of 100.

Innovation

(15 points maximum)

 

  • Implementing innovative, new/unique or updated HR initiatives
  • Demonstrating innovation processes and practices, benchmarked initiatives against competitors and industry
  • Developing mechanisms to involve employees in innovation and improvement of HR initiatives

Communication

(15 points maximum)

 

  • Exhibiting exceptional business facilitation and manages multiple stakeholders and/or different business segments to achieve outcomes in HR initiatives
  • Clearly articulating the employee value proposition and its linkage to broader business and HR goals
  • Evidence of good feedback channels and review programmes for HR initiatives

Standard HR Systems

(10 points maximum)

 

  • Clearly demonstrating the direction of the organization in people management
  • Implementing standard HR systems

Organisation & Business Needs

(30 points maximum)

 

  • Aligning HR initiatives with business objectives
  • Implementing action plans relating to existing economic/industry trends
  • Developing HR initiatives focused on the main stakeholders of the organisation
  • Demonstrating flexibility in introducing tailored HR initiatives to suit different business needs
  • Showing evidence of good/improved financial performance indicators (ROI, staff turnover, leave claims, and others) through the implementation of HR initiatives
  • Demonstrating a clear HR strategic which support for long-term Corporate’s vision

Contribution To Employee Needs

(30 points maximum)

 

  • Developing mechanisms to involve employees’ participation in HR initiatives
  • Implementing HR initiatives that anticipate employees’ demands and needs
  • Efficiently managing changes arising from the implementation of HR initiatives
  • Demonstrating on-going corporate citizenship and a commitment to improving employees’ well being
  • Evidence of good/improved non-financial performance indicators (employee satisfaction, engagement, morale etc…) through implementation of HR initiatives
  • Demonstrating employees’ pride to community

JUDGING PROCESS

SHORT-LIST ASSESSMENT AND PROFILE EVALUATION

 

Documents from enterprises will be assessed against the judging criteria. Those receiving high marks will proceed to the next round.

 

PRESENTATION TO JUDGING PANEL

 

Two representatives from selected enterprises are to make a presentation to the Judging Panel on their merits for receiving an award. Presentations are to be less than one hour in duration. The Judging Panel will assess and give a mark based on the enterprise’s performance. Three Excellent Enterprises will be selected in each category.    

SITE-VISITS (OF ENTERPRISES NOMINATED AS EXCELLENT ENTERPRISES) 

 

The Judging Panel will visit and interview the CEO, the Executive Board, the HR Director and the staff of candidates for an award.

EVALUATIONS AND AWARDING

 

The Judging Panel will hold final discussions and evaluations to determine which enterprises win awards. Winners will be announced at the Vietnam HR Awards 2016 ceremony held in September 2016.

ENTERPRISE INFORMATION

  • The HR Department organisation chart
  • 01 copy of business license
  • 01 copy of social insurance, health insurance and unemployment insurance documents from January 2015 to February 2016
  • Verification that tax obligations have been met
  • Photographs of offices, factories, other facilities and HR personnel (if any)
  • Company logo in vector formats (.eps or .ai)
  • 01 copy of audited financial statements (latest year) 

REPORTS (for each category)

Part 1: Reports in both English and Vietnamese:

  • 01 Executive Summary containing additional information the enterprise wishes to submit (one A4 page)
  • Answering five questions regarding the applied category

 

Part 2: supporting documents such as forms, tables, charts, or graphs as evidence in the relevant category    

02 sets of dossiers, in hard copy, with the above mentioned content.

02 CDs consisting of the same content as the hard copy.

  2. Why do you think these HR practices are soundly communicated?
  3. Please briefly share how are your HR processes/ standards developed and applied to build your people management?
